Fees & Payments

Fees and online payments

Consultation fees and the ways you can pay.

Consultations

A consultation is one hour and costs $250. After you contact me, I will send scheduling details, and your consultation is confirmed once the fee is paid.

Consultations are limited to one hour. If your matter needs more time, we can talk about next steps and a written engagement agreement.

One-hour consultation: $250. Choose how you will pay:

Credit card

$257.50

$250 plus a $7.50 (3%) credit card convenience fee.

Pay $257.50 by credit card on PracticePanther's secure payment page

Credit card companies charge a fee to process each payment, so a 3% convenience fee applies to credit card payments only. To avoid it, pay by bank account or debit card. Please choose the option that matches how you will pay.

New clients: please also send a consultation request so I know what your matter is about.

The consultation fee is for a consultation only. Paying it does not create an attorney-client relationship; representation begins only after we both sign a written engagement agreement. The fee is earned upon receipt. You may nevertheless end the consultation arrangement at any time, and you may be entitled to a refund of all or part of the fee based on the value of the services provided. If I am unable to consult with you, for example because of a conflict of interest, I will refund the fee in full.

After your consultation

Every situation is different, so I set the fee for your matter after the consultation, once I understand what you need. Here is how it works:

  1. Consultation. In a one-hour meeting, we talk through your situation and your goals.
  2. Engagement agreement. I send you a written engagement agreement that sets out the scope of the work and the fee.
  3. Review and sign. You review the agreement, ask any questions, and sign it when you are ready.
  4. Getting started. Once I receive your signed agreement and any initial payment it calls for, I will begin work on your matter.

Pay an invoice

Current clients can pay invoices securely online through PracticePanther.

Remote online notarization is a separate notary service and is not billed as a legal consultation.
